The Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust is seeking a Peripatetic Site Assistant to provide maintenance and caretaking across its schools, including William Leech Primary School. The role focuses on practical, hands-on maintenance, safety checks, and maintaining presentation of school sites.

A full UK driving licence is essential as the role may require travel between sites; the post is permanent with 37 hours per week and a pension with generous employer contributions.

• Willingness to perform practical maintenance and repairs as needed.

Responsabilidades

• General maintenance, such as basic plumbing, joinery, fixing work and minor electrical tasks (e.g. changing lightbulbs).
• Opening and closing the school buildings, conducting routine security/alarm checks, and responding to emergency call outs.
• Conduct essential safety checks such as emergency lighting tests, water monitoring, and fire alarm testing.
• Keep external areas clean, safe and clear of debris such as leaves and branches; includes gritting and snow clearance during bad weather.
• Support with daily school operations, such as setting up rooms and halls for events like parents evening, exams and assemblies.
