Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking an experienced chef to lead the culinary department across its regional residential care homes. You will plan menus, control food orders within budget, and supervise the kitchen and Host staff, moving between sites as required.

The role requires kitchen management experience, a food safety background, an NVQ 3 or equivalent, and a DBS check with right to work in the UK. You will drive high-quality meals that support residents' wellbeing.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 in Food Production or equivalent.
• City and Guilds 706-1 and 706-2 Catering qualifications, or equivalent.
• Training in IDDSI or textured modified diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritionally balanced menu plans for Home Manager approval, including special dietary needs, and keep records for inspection
• Place food orders with approved suppliers within budget and stock controls
• Supervise and direct kitchen staff and the Host team
• Instruct unqualified staff in simple food preparation
• Apply the Avery Food Safety Management system and safe food handling standards
• Travel between care homes across the region
• Manage and guide the culinary team to deliver high-quality meals that support residents' wellbeing
