Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to lead Ward 34 in trauma orthopaedics on a fixed-term maternity cover. You will manage the ward day-to-day, support junior staff and uphold high standards of patient care.

This is a full-time, 37.5-hour post with a shift pattern including days, nights and weekends. You should hold a 1st Level Nursing registration, a nursing diploma, and teaching/assessing qualifications, with leadership

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with 1st Level registration and current registration.
• Diploma in Nursing required; teaching & assessing qualification preferred.
• Degree or working towards; leadership training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage ward operations during shifts and coordinate patient care.
• Support junior staff and uphold high standards of clinical care.
• Coordinate safety huddles and inform staff of changes to care plans.
• Liaise with medical team and assist with ward rounds.
• Ensure compliance with Trust policies and staff development.
