Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse role on T5 Major Trauma Ward at Salford Royal, part of the MCCN. You will lead nursing teams, assess patient care needs, and implement care plans for polytrauma patients with multi-disciplinary input.

The role requires significant trauma experience, current NMC registration, and leadership skills to support the Ward Manager in running the department. Closing date clearly stated: 29 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2).
• Degree level studies or equivalent portfolio of evidence.

Responsibilities

• Assessment of patient care needs and development, devising, implementing and evaluating programmes of care for a specific group of patients.
• Provide daily clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff in the delivery of evidence based practice.
• Actively support the Ward / Unit Manager in the effective running of the department including in their absence.
• Roster management and supporting and educating students.
