Job summary

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is seeking a motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join Ward C6 (Trauma & Orthopaedic) on a fixed-term basis until 28 February 2027. You will join a busy, supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care for trauma and post-operative patients in a dynamic acute setting.

Induction and training will be provided to support development. Previous acute or surgical experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Desirable previous experience in an acute or surgical setting.
• Full induction and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care on the Trauma & Orthopaedic ward.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to meet post-operative needs.
• Provide responsive care during time-limited leave coverage.
