Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse for the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit in Reading. The role involves caring for trauma, spinal, head and polytrauma patients with a strong emphasis on early rehabilitation and postoperative care.

The unit works with a dedicated trauma team and offers ward teaching, an advanced trauma nurse team, and opportunities for level 6 & 7 courses linked to local universities. A two-week induction and preceptorship are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in NHS acute clinical setting
• Experience in Trauma/Orthopaedics advantageous
• Commitment to CPD and professional development

Responsibilities

• Undertake and record comprehensive nursing assessment and planning.
• Deliver and evaluate high standards of evidence-based nursing care.
• Teach and supervise junior staff and students; act as role model within a multidisciplinary team.
