Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group is seeking a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our Ewhurst Road, Crawley team, holding a caseload of residents and meeting weekly to build a support plan.

The role involves housing management, coaching and engagement with young people at risk, safeguarding and trauma-informed practice, plus recording progress in our client database and maintaining professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Experience relating to housing, support work, and/or working with young people at risk.
• Experience with managing a caseload of young people with multiple needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures with professional boundaries.
• Ability to record notes and actions in service logs and safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Housing: coach residents on occupancy agreements and rent payments; stay updated on housing law and welfare benefits; manage non-payment and damage using restorative practices.
• Coaching and Engagement: help residents articulate goals and access services; build networks in the local community; ensure safeguarding standards.
• General: work on a rota, maintain a supportive environment, and participate in ongoing professional development.
