YMCA DownsLink Group in Horsham is seeking a Supported Housing Support Worker to join the Horsham Y team. The role holds a caseload of residents and requires weekly meetings to build tailored support plans, with duties around housing compliance and safeguarding.

The position involves working on a seven-day rolling rota on-site, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, to provide stable and trauma-informed support for young people aged 16-25.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or supported accommodation is required.
• Strong understanding of occupancy agreements, rent management, welfare benefits, and tenancy sustainment.
• Ability to manage arrears, antisocial behaviour, and other non-compliance issues using restorative approaches.
• Good knowledge of housing legislation, safeguarding procedures, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support young people to understand occupancy rules and responsibilities as part of preparing for independent living.
• Promote timely rent payments and financial obligations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing law, welfare benefits, and statutory requirements.
• Respond to breaches of occupancy agreements including arrears and ASB, using restorative approaches.
• Coach residents to articulate aspirations and develop skills for independent living.
• Maintain client records in In-Form detailing progress, risks and outcomes.
