Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group is seeking a Supported Housing Support Worker for the Horsham Y Centre on a 37.5-hour, permanent contract with a seven-day rolling rota, including evenings and weekends. You will hold a caseload of residents, meet weekly to develop plans, and support young people in securing independent living.

Training and DBS checks are part of the process. You will work closely with housing teams to manage occupancy agreements, rent payments, welfare benefits, and signpost to services.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or supported accommodation.
• Strong understanding of occupancy agreements, rent management, welfare benefits and tenancy sustainment.
• Ability to manage arrears, ASB, and other non-compliance issues using restorative approaches.
• Good knowledge of housing legislation, safeguarding procedures and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with statutory and voluntary services available to young people and ability to work with a caseload to support progression towards independent living.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload of residents and meet weekly to build a support plan.
• Promote rent payments and understand financial obligations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits and compliance requirements.
• Record client progress and outcomes in In-Form to monitor service performance.
