Job summary

Compass Community Schools is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support children with SEMH and SEND in a caring, trauma-informed environment. You will work 1:1 or with small groups, support classroom learning, and help create a positive learning atmosphere with engaging activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with diverse needs and challenging behaviours.
• Ability to communicate clearly with children, parents, and staff.
• Willingness to participate in therapeutic training and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in class.
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
• Manage classroom resources and displays.
• Take children on educational trips and visits.
• Engage with children during lunch and social activities.
• Maintain safety and strong behaviour management.
• Create engaging learning games and activities.
• Contribute to the learning environment with displays.
