Job summary

Willow Park School in Milton Keynes seeks a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs. No previous experience required; full training in trauma-informed practice will be provided.

You will work closely with teachers, therapists and the Inclusion Team to build relationships and support learning in a safe, nurturing environment. The role offers a permanent contract (term-time only) with a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, starting in November 2026.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 English and Maths or willingness to undertake.

Responsibilities

  • Support learning in the classroom and during off-site activities.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who need consistency.
  • Use trauma-informed strategies to support emotional regulation.
  • Adapt learning to meet individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and the Inclusion Team.
  • Record progress, behaviour and safeguarding concerns accurately.
  • Promote independence, confidence and a sense of belonging.
