Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a compassionate Trauma-Informed SEN Tutor to support children across the BCP area with personalised 1:1 tuition. You’ll deliver tailored educational support in line with SEND, anxiety, SEMH needs, or disrupted education, prioritising trust, safety and positive relationships.

Start in September with flexible hours and competitive pay (£25-£30 per hour). DBS check and local travel may be required to cover learners across the BCP region.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, TA, mentoring or similar).
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice and relationship-based approaches.
• Ability to adapt learning to individual needs and circumstances.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver preferred; willingness to travel locally across the BCP area.

• Support engagement, confidence, emotional wellbeing and educational progress.
• Create supportive learning environments where learners feel safe to succeed.
