Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area. You will work with learners who require additional educational support due to SEND, anxiety, or EHCPs, using a flexible, relationship-based approach to build confidence and engagement.

The role emphasizes tailoring learning to individual needs and collaborating with Local Authorities to support progress and inclusion for each student.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, TA, mentoring or similar).
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, adaptable and resilient approach.
• DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 tuition to learners in the BCP area.
• Support learners with SEND and EHCPs to enable progress.
• Build confidence, engagement and long-term progress through flexible approaches.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs and backgrounds.
