Job summary

Kibble is recruiting Residential Child and Youth Care Workers for our established houses in Lochwinnoch, Johnstone Inverkip and Largs. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering a trauma-informed care model for children aged 5-12, focusing on safety, development, and rehabilitation.

The role involves flexible shifts, weekend work, and the opportunity to engage in outdoor and play-based activities that support healing and growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated empathy and ability to connect with children and young people.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Resilience and patience when managing challenging behaviour.
• Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Direct care and development support for children and young people with individual placement plans.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to meet targets and monitor progress.
• Coordinate with area team social workers to align school and social targets.
• Engage with families to maintain contact and plan home leave; driving licence is essential.
• Record placement plans and ensure timely reporting to relevant authorities.
