Job summary

Kibble Education and Care Centre is offering a 12-month Trainee Child and Youth Care Worker position. The role involves direct work with young people in trauma-informed settings, with day and night shifts available. You will be supported by a workplace mentor and will pursue the HNC in Social Services during the programme.

The appointment includes probation, potential group assessments, and a start date in January 2027. Benefits include funded study and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Promote effective communication with children and young people to build trust.
• Support the management of situations involving challenging behaviour while safeguarding health, wellbeing and rights.
• Collaborate with parents/carers, internal and external agencies to understand roles and responsibilities.
• Demonstrate good verbal and written communication with competent IT skills for admin tasks.

Responsibilities

• Be based in secure, residential or community settings as required.
