Job summary

YourRecruit is seeking compassionate Residential Care Practitioners to support children and young people in Erith, Kent or Abbey Wood, London. The role offers full-time and part-time hours, with day and night shifts in a nurturing home environment, focusing on wellbeing, development and independence.

You'll promote trauma-informed, child-centred care, maintain accurate care records and collaborate with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
• Experience in children’s residential care or supporting young people is desirable.
• Understanding of safeguarding, child development, attachment and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality residential childcare and day-to-day emotional support.
• Safeguard children and young people, following relevant policies and procedures.
• Support individuals with complex emotional, behavioural and developmental needs.
• Apply trauma-informed, child-centred approaches to care.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, independence and life skills.
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate effectively with families and other professionals.
• Contribute to a stable, positive and supportive residential home.
