Job summary

Greenleaf House in Biggar, South Lanarkshire, seeks a Residential Childcare Practitioner to provide trauma-informed care for children and young people. You will work on a 14-hour shift followed by a 10-hour sleepover in a small residential setting, supporting safety and development 24/7.

The role offers a competitive salary (£34,976–£37,447) with overtime, 29 days holiday, and a comprehensive benefits package, including EAP, funded qualifications, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a residential children’s home or similar environment.
• Eligible for SSSC registration and PVG membership.
• Willing to work shifts including sleepovers and weekends.
• Possess a full UK manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to children and young people in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Contribute to assessment and delivery of support programmes.
• Attend planning and review meetings and participate in key person system.
• Ensure accurate recording of information and maintain safe environments.
• Implement de-escalation and crisis intervention when needed.
