Job summary

CareTech Community Services in Coylton (Ayrshire) is seeking a Residential Childcare Practitioner to support young people with daily routines, schooling, meals and activities, delivering nurturing and therapeutic care to those affected by trauma.

You will build trusting relationships, work with colleagues and professionals, maintain records, and contribute to care plans, risk assessments, and outcomes while creating a warm home-from-home environment.

Qualifications

• Must be warm, patient and a great listener.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to develop and work towards SSSC qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines for children and young people.
• Assist with school/college preparation and homework.
• Facilitate meals, activities and healthy pastimes.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.
