Job summary

CareTech Community Services is hiring a Residential Childcare Practitioner in Stair, Mauchline (KA5). The role supports young people with daily routines, school preparation, meals, and activities, delivering nurturing and therapeutic care for children who have faced trauma.

You will work with a supportive team in a warm home environment, fostering trust and positive outcomes while maintaining records and contributing to care planning.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience caring for children/young people preferred.
• Willing to complete SSSC qualifications and training.

Responsibilities

• Support young people with daily routines, including mornings for school or college, ensuring homework is prepared for the next day, and participating in meals and activities.
• Provide consistent, nurturing, and therapeutic care to children and young people who have experienced trauma and adversity, building relationships and supporting positive outcomes.
• Work with colleagues and professionals to deliver high-quality, child-centred care and maintain accurate records for care planning and risk assessments.
• Participate in team meetings, training, reflective practice, and plan activities such as trips to the park or creative projects.
