Job summary

The Priory Group is recruiting a Registered Manager for The Lighthouse, a 5-bedded residential home in Stroud, Gloucestershire. The role is full-time, site-based, 37.5 hours per week, and salary is £50,000 per year.

You will lead operations, ensure safeguarding and Ofsted readiness, and drive a trauma-informed, therapeutic culture for young people aged 13–18. Level 5 Diploma (or working towards) is required, with a proven residential childcare management background.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or currently working towards it).
• Experience at Management or Deputy Manager level within a children’s residential care setting.
• In-depth knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks and children's safeguarding legislation.
• A values-driven, resilient leader with a deep commitment to trauma-informed and therapeutic care principles.

Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations under Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
• Quality & Safeguarding: Maintain high-quality care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding practices.
• Ofsted Readiness: Lead the home through regulatory inspections to achieve Good/Outstanding ratings.
• Team Development: Recruit, supervise, and develop a high-performing care team.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build partnerships with local authorities, social workers and external multidisciplinary teams.
