Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is recruiting a psychologist to join the integrated mental health team at HMP Garth, working 2.5 days per week with potential to extend to full time. You will lead the team, supervise an assistant psychologist, conduct assessments and formulations, and deliver targeted interventions in a challenging prison setting.

You will require HCPC registration and postgraduate therapy training, with experience in integrated mental health services, and you will engage in

Qualifications

• Qualified clinical, counselling or forensic psychologist.
• Postgraduate training in at least one therapy (CBT, DBT, etc.).
• HCPC registered.
• Experience in integrated mental health services.
• Knowledge of prison health policy and risk assessment practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership within the Integrated Mental Health Team.
• Supervise an assistant psychologist.
• Conduct psychological assessments and interpret data.
• Deliver individual and group interventions, including Making Sense programme.
• Lead service development projects with multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide training to healthcare and prison staff.
