Kibble is seeking a residential child and youth care worker to support children aged 5 to 12 across several houses in Scotland. You will implement placement programmes, coordinate with social workers and teachers, and complete required reports within set timescales.

The role requires trauma-informed practice, PVG/SSSC registration, a valid driving licence, and flexibility to work early/back shifts including weekends. Prior residential childcare experience is desirable.

Competenze

• HNC in Social Care and SVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent, or the ability to undertake both.
• SSSC registration, PVG membership and a full driving licence are required.
• Understanding of developmental trauma and additional support needs.

Mansioni

• Hold direct responsibility for the care and development of a number of children, delivering placement programmes with social and educational targets reviewed regularly.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to agree, monitor and facilitate placement targets.
• Liaise with the area team social worker to link school targets with social work tasks.
• Meet parents or relatives to maintain family contact, secure their cooperation and confirm home leave is viable.
• Record placement plans in the format the Centre requires.
• Provide reports for the Reporter to the Children's Panel, the Clerk of the Court, the Procurator Fiscal and the social worker within set timescales.
• Support children with personal care, promoting independence, dignity and privacy.
• Respond calmly to physical and verbal aggression.
• Co-work with social work, educational psychology, psychiatry and other agencies, representing children's needs and the Centre's policies.
• Engage fully in outdoor, messy and risky play with children.
• Establish relationships through which children can disclose abuse.
