Job summary

Shelter in Dorset is seeking a Support Worker to help women facing homelessness and trauma. You will tailor housing support, help access counselling, and work within the SHINE service in partnership with STARS to sustain a home.

You will manage a demanding caseload, use case management tools and Microsoft Office, and travel to clients' homes with a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Understanding of needs of women affected by homelessness and multiple disadvantages.
• Experience applying safeguarding frameworks.
• Experience delivering services for women and coordinating with multiple agencies.
• Ability to manage a demanding caseload and use case management systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Full driving licence and access to a car for home visits.

Responsibilities

• Tailor accommodation support to each woman to sustain a home.
• Support access to specialist counselling for trauma recovery.
• Work in partnership with Dorset charity STARS and the SHINE service.
• Visit clients in their homes and coordinate with housing services.
