LJ Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in Colchester, Essex, to support vulnerable young people in a specialist residential education setting. The role involves assisting with lessons, running targeted interventions and delivering pastoral support.

The ideal candidate will have HLTA status or a Level 4 qualification, GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, and experience working with vulnerable children within education or care environments.

Competenze

• HLTA status or Level 4 qualification in education, youth work or child development.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above.
• Experience working with vulnerable children or young people in educational or care settings.

Mansioni

• Support teaching staff with lesson planning and preparing differentiated learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with additional learning needs.
• Lead lessons and provide classroom cover when required.
• Develop positive relationships with young people using trauma-informed approaches.

• Support educational visits and enrichment activities.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.
