Job summary

Stonepillow is recruiting a Day Support Worker to help homeless young people in the Chichester area. You will work with 16+ young people and care leavers, applying trauma-informed approaches, safeguarding, and confidentiality in all duties.

You will manage caseloads, prepare risk assessments, coordinate referrals, and support life skills for independence, all while modelling a compassionate, never-give-up mindset.

Qualifications

• Kind and never give up attitude required.
• Able to work in challenging situations.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety, safeguarding and confidentiality.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young people (YP).
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of people using active listening.
• Ability to update paper and computerised systems and ensure records are kept.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in a person-centred way.
• Model a kind, positive, persistent approach to engage young people and ensure a safe, trusted adult is available.
• Manage own caseload; produce individual support and risk assessments.
• Ensure the voice of the YP is heard and communicated to partners.
• Support line manager with detailed case file audits and safeguarding actions.
• Facilitate quarterly case reviews with the YP, line manager and professionals.
• Coordinate referrals and Life Skills Programme for independence.
• Model Unconditional Positive Regard and a never give up approach.
• Note: some shifts involve lone working.
