Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a compassionate CAMHS Practitioner to join the Citywide Targeted CAMHS Team. You will conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, develop formulations and deliver short-term, evidence-based interventions for children, young people and families.

You will work within multi-disciplinary teams, manage safeguarding risk, contribute to single point of access, and collaborate with education, health and social care partners to ensure timely, person-centred support.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Social Work, Nursing or Teaching with relevant post-qualification experience.
• Specialist training in evidence-based therapies for children and young people.
• Extensive experience delivering interventions and formulating care for diverse mental health presentations.
• Strong ability to assess and manage safeguarding risks in complex, multi-agency settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop collaborative formulations.
• Deliver short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children, young people and families.
• Assess, manage and communicate risk effectively with a child-centred approach.
• Provide multi-disciplinary support and contribute to the CAMHS Single Point of Access.
• Collaborate with education, health, social care and voluntary sector partners for timely support.

Education

Degree-level qualification in Social Work, Nursing or Teaching

Specialist training in evidence-based therapeutic intervention

Experience delivering interventions for children and families

Extensive risk assessment and safeguarding experience

Advanced knowledge of child and adolescent mental health

Expert safeguarding and multi-agency risk management
