Job summary

The Sigma Trust is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker for the GROW provision at Stanway School in Colchester. This role focuses on supporting secondary students with SEMH needs and delivering personalised strategies within a trauma-informed framework.

The post requires NVQ Level 3 in learning support/behaviour support or equivalent, with safeguarding responsibilities and collaboration with families and staff. Fixed-term 39 weeks, 37 hours weekly, start ASAP.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in learning support/behaviour support or equivalent qualification or experience.
• Able to contribute proactively to the work of a team supporting children, their families and carers.
• Able to participate in assessing the progress and performance and recommend appropriate strategies to support development.
• Able to establish rapport and build respectful and trusting relationships with children, their families and carers and other adults

Responsibilities

• To provide high quality specialist educational support for KS3 students with social and emotional wellbeing needs.
• To help students make demonstrable progress in social and emotional development and learning, building on strengths and resources.
• To develop and model positive adult and peer relationships in line with GROW values and expectations.
• To ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are followed and statutory requirements met.
• To communicate with parents/carers to foster partnership and regular reviews.
• To work flexibly and creatively.
• To contribute to outreach work within the North East Essex Schools.
• To contribute to assessment, planning, monitoring and evaluations.
