Job summary

Learning Community Trust—Queensway School in Telford seeks a calm, resilient Behaviour Support Worker to help pupils feel safe, regulate themselves, and re‑engage with learning. The role supports safe movement across classrooms and spaces, with proactive help during transitions and unstructured times.

The post requires experience with children in education or similar settings, an understanding of SEMH and autism, and commitment to safeguarding, teamwork and inclusion within a supportive school

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people in education or similar settings.
• Understanding of autism, SEMH and related needs is helpful.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across classrooms and corridors to move safely and engage with learning.
• Apply behaviour support plans and risk assessments in line with school policy.
• Use trauma‑aware approaches to de‑escalate incidents and restore learning routines.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding checks.
• Promote inclusive, respectful behaviour and positive pupil engagement.
