Job summary

Queensway School in Telford is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH, autism and communication needs. Permanent post, term-time hours (32.5 per week) within the Learning Community Trust, with induction and ongoing professional development.

You will work closely with teachers to adapt activities, support independence, safe handling and inclusion across both North and South sites, providing calm, consistent support during lessons and transitions.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children with SEMH or autism is beneficial.
• Ability to adapt resources and explain concepts clearly.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practices.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils under teachers’ planning and programmes of support.
• Encourage communication, independence and participation in lessons.
• Provide calm, consistent support during transitions and unstructured times.
• Observe pupil responses and give feedback to the teaching team.
