Job summary

Queensway School in Telford is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and autistic needs across North and South sites. The role involves working with teachers to help pupils access an ambitious curriculum and participate in school life.

You will support individuals and small groups, adapt explanations, encourage communication and independence, and provide calm, consistent assistance during lessons and transitions. A comprehensive induction is provided.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans to access an ambitious curriculum.
• Encourage communication and independence, and provide calm, consistent support during lessons, transitions and unstructured times.
• Follow teachers’ planning, observe pupils’ responses and provide clear feedback.
• Help create a safe, organised and nurturing learning environment using relational and trauma-aware approaches.
