Job summary

Elementa Support Services Ltd is seeking an ALN Teacher to join a Gwynedd setting and support learners with challenging needs. The role focuses on trauma-informed approaches to help pupils rebuild confidence and relationships.

The successful candidate will have QTS, experience with ALN, and a commitment to compassionate, trauma-informed education. Welsh language skills are advantageous but not essential. Competitive daily rates and full-time opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching or supporting learners with additional learning needs (ALN).
• Understanding of ACEs and their impact on development.
• Trauma-informed teaching practices within an educational setting.
• Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Patient, empathetic, adaptable and resilient attitude.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver accessible, differentiated lessons for learners with ALN.
• Apply trauma-informed strategies to create a safe learning environment.
• Understand ACEs impact on wellbeing, behaviour, and progress.
• Build positive relationships with learners facing barriers to education.
• Support emotional regulation, resilience, independence and confidence.
• Implement individualized learning plans and adapt teaching strategies.
• Use restorative and relationship-based approaches to behaviour.
• Collaborate with TAs, ALNCOs, families, and external pros.
• Assess progress and celebrate achievements, big or small.
• Foster an inclusive culture where every learner is heard and respected.
