Elementa Support Services in Gwynedd seeks a compassionate ALN Teacher to support learners with Special Educational Needs. You will deliver inclusive, trauma-informed lessons and build strong relationships with pupils who have experienced adversity.

Successful candidates will understand ACEs, manage behaviour effectively, and collaborate with assistants and families to support pupil wellbeing and progress.

Qualifikationen

• Holds QTS.
• Experience teaching or supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
• Understanding of ACEs and their impact on development.
• Experience applying trauma-informed teaching practices.
• Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Patient, empathetic, adaptable and resilient.
• Ability to build positive relationships with learners who face engagement barriers.
• Experience in specialist ALN settings, alternative provision or PRUs is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.
• Registered with EWC or willing to complete registration.

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with ALN.
• Apply trauma-informed strategies to create a safe learning environment.
• Respond to ACEs affecting emotional wellbeing, behaviour and progress.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils facing barriers to education.
• Support learners in emotional regulation, resilience and independence.
• Develop Individualised Learning Plans and adapt teaching accordingly.
• Use restorative and relationship-based approaches to behaviour management.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, ALNCOs, families and external professionals.
• Assess and monitor progress, celebrating achievements.
• Foster an inclusive classroom culture where learners feel heard and respected.
