Job summary

Elementa Support Services is seeking a compassionate ALN Teacher to join a dedicated educational setting in Gwynedd. The role focuses on learners with Additional Learning Needs, many affected by adversity, and requires trauma-informed approaches to help rebuild confidence and relationships.

The successful candidate will hold QTS, be EWC registered or willing to register, and have an Enhanced DBS. Competitive daily rates and full-time opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching or supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs.
• Thorough understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
• Experience applying trauma-informed teaching in educational settings.
• Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Inspiring, differentiated lessons for pupils with ALN.
• Apply trauma-informed strategies to create a safe learning environment.
• Respond to ACEs impact on wellbeing, behaviour and progress.
• Build trusting relationships with learners who face barriers to education.
• Support learners in emotional regulation, resilience, independence, and confidence.
• Implement individualised learning plans and adapt teaching methods.
• Use restorative, relationship-based approaches to behaviour management.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, ALNCOs, families and external professionals.
• Assess and monitor progress and celebrate achievements.
• Foster an inclusive classroom culture where every learner is heard and respected.
