Job description

Are you a dynamic forward thinking professional, with a passion for trauma care? Do you want to experience everything that a multi site acute organisation has to offer, whilst leading on the coordination of the trauma service within Newham University Hospital? We are able to offer the opportunity to work within a highly specialised team of professionals, managing a caseload of Trauma patients with varying diagnoses and complex needs. Interested? This role is for a band 7 registered Nurse .

You will need to utilise evidence based/ client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a defined clinical area, ensuring the delivery of highest quality patient centred care possible.

Ensure development of junior staff through supervision, training, and annual appraisal.

Contribution to the maintenance and development of the service and divisional objectives

Take a lead for information management to ensure high quality data, which is recorded, evaluated & reported in a timely manner.

Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of clinical practice & service development within area.

Maintain professional standards, aligned to trust standards and values at all times.

Be professionally and accountable for all aspects of own work and management of clinical risk within own clinical caseload.

  • Carry a clinical caseload of highly complex patients, providing advanced therapeutic assessment, evaluation and coordination.
  • Provide detailed written treatment plans with patient centred goals.
  • To work autonomously as a member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to team discussions and influencing decisions about patient care programs.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider MDT to help coordinate patient pathways, including repatriation, complex discharge, referrals to complex rehabilitation and ensure timely completion of rehabilitation prescriptions
  • Support all aspects of service, leading on reporting and assurance for the service locally, also contributing to network and divisional reporting requirements.
