Job summary

Lowe Rental Ltd. is seeking a Transport Coordinator to join our team at the Uttoxeter distribution hub. Based in the UK, you will oversee transport operations, plan delivery routes, and coordinate drivers to ensure timely asset delivery.

The role reports to the Transport Manager and requires strong organizational, communication, and regulatory compliance skills in a fast-paced environment. On-call weekends are required, with opportunities to grow within a globally recognized brand.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Transport Coordinator or similar role in Transport.
• Working knowledge of Transport regulations and best practice.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Planning Manager to plan and optimize delivery routes.
• Monitor route changes and complete adjustments in a timely manner.
• Input POD/POC information from third party hauliers onto our system, and chase hauliers to provide documents.
• Ensure hauliers have a booking for loading/unloading on the Marchington booking system.
• Maintain regular communication with drivers to resolve on-the-job challenges and serve as the primary contact for route information.
• Liaise with warehouse, asset management, and project management to ensure projects run smoothly.
• Ensure compliance with Transport regulations and company policies, monitor tachographs and fleet maintenance.

The Role

This is a full time and permanent position to join our Transport Team, based at our Distribution hub in Uttoxeter. As a Transport Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of the Lowe transport department at Marchington.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Transport operations, ensuring efficient routes and schedules, coordinating with drivers, the warehouse, and maintaining legal compliance. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of assets

Responsibilities to the company

• Continuously suggest improvements for efficiency, safety, compliance, and effectiveness of tasks.
• Carry out any reasonable duties assigned by the Transport Supervisor or Head of Transport.

The Role

Route Planning and Route Admin

• Collaborate with the Planning Manager to plan and optimize delivery routes.
• Monitor route changes and complete adjustments in a timely manner.
• Input POD/POC information received from third party hauliers onto our system, and chase hauliers to provide relevant documents.
• Ensure hauliers have a booking for loading/unloading on the Marchington booking system.

Communication

• Maintain regular communication with drivers to resolve any on the job challenges.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding route information, schedules, and updates.
• Liaise with warehouse, asset management, and project management to ensure projects run smoothly.

Transport Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Transport regulations and company policies.
• Monitor missing miles, ensure drivers download their tachograph regularly, and download vehicle tachographs on a weekly basis.
• Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and maintain vehicle fleet records.
