Job summary

Culina is seeking a Transport Team Leader to join our Transport Logistics division. You will allocate drivers and vehicles to loads, plan start times to meet despatch KPIs, and coordinate with third party hauliers to ensure on-time collections from site.

You will maintain clear driver communication, ensure orders are dispatched in the right condition, and help uphold service levels across departments while adhering to health and safety policies. This role operates 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00-6:00.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport for FMCG environments is required.
• Strong communication and accuracy under pressure.
• Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Allocate both drivers and vehicles to loads in the most efficient way, considering holidays and sickness, drivers hours and WTD regulations.
• Plan driver start times to meet the site's despatch KPI.
• Proactively communicate with third party hauliers to ensure collection times are adhered to from site.
• Liaise with the shunting operation covering pre loading and unloading operation.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers, providing accurate start times and load information.
• Ensure orders are despatched and delivered in the right condition per customer specs.
• Communicate delays to collections or delivery points as needed.
• Ensure service levels are achieved and maintained with other departments.
• Allocate equipment to meet maintenance / service intervals as instructed by maintenance planner.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policy and report any accidents.

As part of our, Transport Logistics division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Transport Team Leader.

Salary: £29,000 - £32,000, depending on experience

Shift: 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00-6:00

Key Duties of Transport Team Leader:

• To allocate both drivers and vehicles to loads in the most efficient way, taking into account holidays and sickness, drivers hours and WTD regulations.
• Planning driver start times to meet the sites despatch KPI.
• Proactively communicate with third party hauliers to ensure collection times are adhered to from site.
• Liaising with the shunting operation covering pre loading and unloading operation.
• Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate start times, load information, directions.
• Ensure orders are despatched and delivered in the right condition in line with customer specifications.
• Communicate with the collection or delivery points to advice of any delays.
• Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments.
• Allocate equipment to meet maintenance / service intervals as instructed by the maintenance planner.
• Adhere to the business Health & Safety policy, ensuring that all accidents are reported.

Qualifications

• Transport experience in FMCG environment.

• The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Able to work as part of a team or individually.
• Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation.
• Knowledge & experience of tachograph / driving rules and regulations.
• CPC National desirable but not essential.
• Attention to detail / accuracy.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft office packages.
• Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines.
