Job summary

Culina is seeking a Transport Supervisor to lead the night traffic operations team and driver group, planning resources and ensuring efficient vehicle utilisation. The role requires strong communication, attention to safety and regulatory compliance, and cross-site coordination.

The position offers a competitive salary and benefits within a 4-on-3-off night shift pattern, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement in a FMCG logistics environment.

Qualifications

• LGV driving licence in scope or desirable.
• Experience of fleet maintenance in a logistics/fleet setting.
• Knowledge and experience of working in a FMCG environment.
• Current CPC would be advantageous.
• Experience of vehicle servicing and maintenance in a similar environment.
• Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics and diagnostics.
• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
• Able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good communication skills are essential for coordination and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead night traffic operations and driver teams to plan resources efficiently.
• Ensure utilisation of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors and agency drivers across sites.
• Ensure compliance with drivers hours regulations and safety rules.
• Communicate tasks clearly to drivers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with management to discuss efficiencies and best practices.
• Monitor and record equipment status and customer requirements.
• Balance fleet and sub-contractor needs to meet service levels.
• Provide support to Transport Shift Manager in meetings or customer reviews.
• Ensure all vehicle and trailer services are completed on time and trips are fully resourced.

As part of our, Chilled & Fresh division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Transport Supervisor

Salary: £38,957.28 per annum

Shift: 4 on 3 off, 19:00pm-07:00am

To be responsible for leading the night traffic operations team and driver team in ensuring the planning of Company and / or Third Party resources, managing vehicle utilisation and ensuring Drivers are given clear and precise instructions. To ensure that all service levels are met cost effectively and within the constraints of the driver’s hours and Health and Safety regulations.

Key Duties of a Transport Supervisor:

• To ensure that all elements of the job are communicated effectively to all personnel especially drivers and sub-contractors.
• To plan the effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors and agency drivers and ensuring that all the companies’ sites are considered when doing so.
• To ensure that people under your control work within a safe environment and follow drivers hours regulations when driving.
• Close liaison with fellow team members and management to discuss efficiencies and agreed operational practises.
• Assist in the control of equipment ensuring that customer requirements are met and recorded.
• To monitor RDC performances.
• Assist in the Management of the balance between own fleet and sub contract requirements.
• Support and if necessary, covering the Transport Shift Manager in meetings or customer reviews
• Ensure that all vehicle and trailer services are completed on time.
• To ensure ESP completed daily and all trips fully resourced on a daily basis.

Qualifications
