Job summary

Alliance Automotive Logistics seeks a proactive Transport Supervisor for the National Distribution Centre in Rotherham to oversee nights transport operations. You will report to the Transport Manager and ensure safe, compliant, on-time outbound and inbound work during the night shift.

Responsibilities include supervising drivers, coordinating routes, monitoring vehicle availability, and maintaining transport records.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport supervisory or team leader roles.
• Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing drivers in fast-paced operations.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communicator with ability to challenge and influence.
• Proficient in Transport Management Systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all afternoon/evening transport operations to ensure on-time departures and deliveries.
• Manage and support a team of drivers, ensuring route/schedule adherence.
• Monitor vehicle availability and liaise with fleet/maintenance teams to address defects.
• Ensure compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, WTD and tachograph legislation.
• Conduct driver briefings/debriefings and address performance issues.
• Monitor KPIs (OTIF, vehicle utilisation, absence) and report incidents.
