Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day transport operations.

• Monitor driver performance, attendance and compliance.
• Support planning and coordination of routes and deliveries.
• Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
• Ensure transport legislation and company policies are followed.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, management, customers and other departments.
• Monitor service levels and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Complete relevant transport administration and records.
• Support the Transport Manager with overall operation.
• Take responsibility for the operation during your shift and escalate issues as needed.

Transport Supervisor

Location: Redditch

Salary: £35,127 per annum

Hours: 09:00 - 21:00

Contract: Permanent, Direct Employment

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Transport Supervisor to join a well-known and established transport and logistics company based in Redditch.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with transport, logistics or supervisory experience who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced and professional operation.

Working as part of the transport management team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of daily transport operations, supporting drivers and maintaining high standards of service, safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating day-to-day transport operations.
• Managing and supporting a team of drivers and transport staff.
• Ensuring vehicles and drivers are operating safely and efficiently.
• Monitoring driver performance, attendance and compliance.
• Supporting the planning and coordination of routes and deliveries.
• Dealing with operational issues and resolving problems quickly and effectively.
• Ensuring all transport legislation, company policies and procedures are followed.
• Communicating effectively with drivers, management, customers and other departments.
• Monitoring service levels and helping to maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Completing relevant transport administration and operational records.
• Supporting the Transport Manager with the overall running of the operation.
• Taking responsibility for the operation during your shift and escalating issues where appropriate.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience within a transport, logistics or distribution environment.
• Supervisory or team-leading experience.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• A good understanding of transport operations and driver management.
• A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• Good IT and administrative skills.
• The flexibility to work additional hours where required, particularly during the training period.

Flexibility will be required initially until you are fully trained and established in the role.
