Job summary

Fowler Welch, within the Chilled & Fresh division, invites applications for a Transport Supervisor. You will lead the day traffic operations and driver team to plan company and third-party resources, optimise vehicle utilisation and ensure clear instructions for drivers to meet service levels.

Based in the UK, this role requires experience in FMCG environments, a valid LGV licence preferred, and a solid grasp of drivers' hours regulations and health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a transport/driver team in a fast-moving environment.
• Knowledge of Drivers Hours Regulations and Health & Safety basics.
• Ability to plan drivers, vehicles and subcontractors across multiple sites.
• Experience in FMCG environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead day traffic operations and driver teams, ensuring efficient resource planning.
• Communicate clearly with drivers and subcontractors to follow instructions.
• Plan utilisation of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors and agency drivers; consider all sites.
• Ensure compliance with Drivers Hours Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
• Monitor RDC performance and balance own fleet with subcontractor needs.

As part of our, Chilled & Fresh division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Transport Supervisor

Salary: £38,957.28 per annum

Shift: 4 on 3 off, 19:00pm-07:00am

To be responsible for leading the day traffic operations team and driver team in ensuring the planning of Company and / or Third Party resources, managing vehicle utilisation and ensuring Drivers are given clear and precise instructions. To ensure that all service levels are met cost effectively and within the constraints of the driver's hours and Health and Safety regulations.

Key Duties of a Transport Supervisor:

• To ensure that all elements of the job are communicated effectively to all personnel especially drivers and sub-contractors.
• To plan the effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors and agency drivers and ensuring that all the companies' sites are considered when doing so.
• To ensure that people under your control work within a safe environment and follow drivers hours regulations when driving.
• Close liaison with fellow team members and management to discuss efficiencies and agreed operational practises.
• Assist in the control of equipment ensuring that customer requirements are met and recorded.
• To monitor RDC performances.
• Assist in the Management of the balance between own fleet and sub contract requirements.
• Support and if necessary covering the Operations Manager in meetings or customer reviews.
• Ensure that all vehicle and trailer services are completed on time.
• To ensure ESP completed daily and all trips fully resourced on a daily basis.

What you'll need ...
