Leicestershire County Council is seeking two Transport Strategy Officers to join the Growth, Environment and Transport Department. You will help develop and implement transport policies, shaping county strategies and plans and providing input to broader policy work with Midlands Connect, National Highways and district councils.

Qualifications

• Hold an HNC/HND/NVQ4 in a relevant qualification (e.g., Civil Engineering, Transportation or Planning) or demonstrate equivalent work experience in transport strategy, policy and plan development, traffic management, or assessment of development impacts.
• Knowledge of current transport legislation, policies, procedures and frameworks for strategy development.
• Experience working with internal and external partners to influence development and delivery of transport measures.
• Experience analysing complex data to inform strategy, policy development or transport impacts.
• Experience interpreting and writing technical and non-technical reports and providing technical advice to stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Help with the development and implementation of the County Council’s transport policies, strategies and plans.
• Provide transport input to the development and delivery of wider economic, land use, social and environmental policies.
• Develop, implement and periodically review transport policies to align with the authority’s objectives, liaising with internal and external partners.
• Engage with transportation policy advice for external partners including Midlands Connect, National Highways and district councils.
• Gather evidence from national, regional and local sources to inform transport policies and strategies.
• Provide strategic and technical advice to Members, partners, customers and stakeholders and write reports.
• Provide development and project management input (including budget) for transport studies that support policy delivery.
