Job summary

GXO is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to lead the Primark contract in Thrapston. You will own daily transport operations, ensure safe, compliant performance and develop a high‑performing team through coaching of Team Leaders.

This full-time role is on a 14:00–22:00 PM shift, five days out of seven, with a salary up to £40,314 plus a £3,000 shift allowance and 33 days' leave. Benefits include a company pension, private medical & dental insurance and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of transport compliance, safety standards and operational best practice.
• Proven leadership experience within transport, logistics or a similar operational environment.
• Ability to manage performance, analyse data and influence operational outcomes.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and develop team.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of daily transport operations, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient performance.
• Lead, coach and develop Team Leaders and wider colleagues to build a high-performing team.
• Monitor, analyse and report on KPIs, service levels and compliance metrics.
• Manage resource planning, operational challenges and risk mitigation across the shift.
• Drive a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement throughout the operation.
