Agrial Fresh Produce Ltd is seeking a Transport Planner to organize and plan routes for articulated vehicles in a cost-efficient, compliant manner. You will lead driver guidance, scheduling, and daily despatch activities, with a focus on food safety and health & safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years in transport planning/logistics in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong organisation and analytical skills with multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with transport management systems (TMS).
• Problem-solving mindset; able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication with internal and external partners.
• Knowledge of UK/EU transport legislation, drivers hours and tachograph rules.

Responsibilities

• Accurately route plan and schedule vehicles to meet pre-agreed times, including backloads to avoid empty running.
• Provide instruction and guidance to drivers and agency workers; monitor delays and unauthorised routes.
• Create weekly driver rota; assign runs; adjust routes, loads and drivers as needed.
• Debrief drivers; download driver cards; verify PODs and paperwork for accuracy.
• Maintain daily driver costing sheet; track expenses to keep within budget.
• Communicate delivery/collection times to customers; notify depots of issues in advance.
• Maintain transport administration records in the TMS; ensure compliance with procedures.
• Provide daily admin support to Despatch; ensure timely communication.
• Complete daily handover for next shift and note issues for escalation.
• Carry out reasonable requests from management related to role.
