Job summary

WR Logistics in Trafford Park is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join its busy transport team. You will coordinate export trailers and multi-drop collections, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient operations.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with holiday shifts (early and late) and occasional Saturday mornings paid as overtime. You will receive 30 days of annual leave, rising to 35 with length of service, and full training on internal systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning within a UK logistics company.
• Ability to organise, manage and utilise people and resources effectively.
• Good computer skills; training on in-house systems provided.
• Flexible approach to working hours and shift cover.
• Calm and effective in time-critical environments.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive problem-solving and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate export trailers.
• Plan multi-drop collection and delivery vehicles for on-time performance.
• Ensure all customer collections are completed efficiently.
• Adjust schedules in response to changing customer and network demands.
• Liaise with drivers and colleagues to maintain high daily standards.
• Monitor driver performance and communicate delays effectively.
• Troubleshoot live transport issues and implement practical solutions.
• Maintain accurate records and provide operational updates.
