Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd. is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our London team, supporting a varied portfolio of development-led projects across the capital and wider UK.

You will provide transport planning and highways advice to support residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes, working closely with developers, planning consultants and authorities to secure planning consent.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a Transport Planning or Highways Consultancy environment.
• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline.
• Experience preparing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements.
• Good understanding of the UK planning system and development management process.
• Knowledge of London transport policies, local authority requirements and TfL guidance.
• Experience undertaking traffic generation, trip rate and junction capacity assessments.
• Familiarity with industry software such as TRICS, Junctions 10, LinSig and AutoCAD.
• Strong report-writing, analytical and technical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Transport Assessments and Transport Statements to support planning applications.
• Develop and prepare Travel Plans, Delivery and Servicing Plans and Construction Logistics Plans.
• Undertake transport and highways appraisals for proposed development sites.
• Assess traffic generation, trip distribution and modal split for new developments.
• Carry out junction capacity assessments and traffic modelling where required.
• Provide transport planning advice to support development feasibility and planning strategies.
• Liaise with local authorities, TfL, National Highways and other consultees.
• Work closely with clients, developers, architects and planning consultants.
• Review transport policies and assess their implications for proposals.
• Support the preparation, submission and progression of planning applications.
• Respond to transport and highways-related planning conditions and comments.
• Attend client and design team meetings and stakeholder consultations.
• Assist with project management, fee proposals and delivery within timescales and budgets.
