Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join its Development Planning team in a hybrid London/Surrey setting. The role involves leading development-focused transport planning work, liaising with clients and authorities, and guiding projects from feasibility through delivery.

Ideal candidates will have strong UK development planning experience, expertise in Transport Assessments and Travel Plans, and proficiency with TRICS/TEMPro and junction modelling tools.

Qualifications

• Strong UK development planning experience.
• Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Knowledge of TRICS, TEMPro, and junction modelling software such as Junctions, LinSig, or similar.
• Experience working with developers, consultants, architects, and local authorities.
• Strong report-writing, communication, and project management skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage client expectations.
• Collaborative approach and interest in supporting junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage development-focused transport planning projects.
• Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, access studies, and technical reports.
• Advise clients through planning and development processes, from initial site promotion to project delivery.
• Liaise with clients, planning authorities, highway authorities, and design teams.
• Manage project budgets, programmes, and resources.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• At Principal level, contribute to client development, fee proposals, and team growth.
