Job summary

Jobsworth Recruitment Solutions - Northern Industrial is seeking a proactive Transport Planner / Loader in Ashton. The role combines daily transport planning with practical loading duties to ensure safe, on-time deliveries.

You will assist with route planning, maintain transport records and prepare vehicles for dispatch while upholding Health & Safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic IT skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive approach with a strong commitment to Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Support the Transport Manager with daily transport planning and route scheduling.
• Update transport systems and maintain accurate transport documentation.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse and Customer Services to meet delivery requirements.
• Monitor vehicle availability and loading priorities.
• Load vehicles safely and in line with loading plans.
• Check products against delivery paperwork and report discrepancies.
• Prioritise loading to ensure on-time departures.
• Report damaged products or operational issues.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve daily dispatch targets and customer service.
