Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking an experienced Transport Planner in Seaham to coordinate daily transport schedules and ensure timely delivery and collection of goods.

You will liaise with production, freight forwarders, and internal teams, manage documentation, optimise routes, and maintain compliance with transport regulations while delivering excellent customer service. Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in transport planning, logistics, or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of road transport regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS); knowledge of Webfleet is advantageous.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules to ensure timely delivery and collection of goods.
• Liaise with production and internal departments to align loading and dispatch requirements.
• Work with freight forwarders to arrange haulage, shipping, and related logistics activities.
• Prepare and maintain accurate transport documentation within required timescales.
• Monitor loading, dispatch and delivery processes to maximise efficiency and service levels.
• Allocate vehicles, drivers and routes to optimise transport performance.
• Investigate and resolve transport-related issues and customer queries promptly.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, company policies and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and logistics partners.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to wider business objectives.
