Igloo Ltd in Ryton-on-Dunsmore is recruiting Transport Planners to support a busy automotive logistics operation. In this role you will coordinate daily transport movements across the UK, schedule bookings, and help maintain efficient vehicle movements.

You will source cost-effective transport solutions through subcontract hauliers, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with driver rules. The position offers hybrid working with Friday work-from-home, weekly pay, and a company pension.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics or transport industry
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Confident using computer systems and MS Office including Excel, Outlook and Teams
• Able to communicate with all levels of management internally and externally
• Knowledge of the automotive industry is advantageous but not essential

Job description

We are currently recruiting for Transport Planners to join a busy automotive logistics operation based in Ryton-on-Dunsmore. This is a fast-paced role supporting transport operations and vehicle movements across the UK.

The successful candidates will play a key role in coordinating transport activity, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring effective communication across the wider transport team.

The Role:

As a Transport Planner, your responsibilities will include:

• Scheduling and booking daily transport movements
• Sourcing cost-effective transport solutions through subcontract hauliers
• Requesting the correct transport equipment based on customer requirements
• Monitoring subcontractor performance and service levels
• Planning transport activity in line with driver rules and regulations
• Maintaining excellent internal and external relationships
• Supporting the wider transport team with daily operational tasks

The Person:

• Previous experience within the logistics or transport industry
• Knowledge of the automotive industry is advantageous but not essential
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Confident using computer systems, as much of the role is computer based
• Able to communicate confidently with all levels of management internally and externally
• Confident using Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
