Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, offers an empowered site culture focused on customer service. We are seeking a Transport Planner to join our Minworth site on a full-time permanent basis.

You will oversee day-to-day transport planning across UK warehouses and manufacturing sites, coordinate subcontractors, and manage the fleet's workload both on and off site. You will handle queries by phone, fax and email, liaise with Traffic and Administration teams, and maintain accurate reports.

Qualifications

  • Experience in busy transport environments with planning duties.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure within tight timescales.
  • Flexible and adaptable to peak periods in the business.
  • Excellent communication across all levels within the company.
  • Ability to identify improvements for the company and customers.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a small team or independently.
  • Knowledge of SAP, BPCS, Road Runner advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Plan subcontracting and orders across UK warehouses and sites.
  • Plan daily workload for fleet and on/off-site vehicles.
  • Handle queries from customers, sub-contractors and warehouses by phone, fax, and email.
  • Liaise with Traffic and Administration to maintain performance standards.
  • Maintain and update spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
  • Report problems and address arising queries.
  • Support fleet and driver training as required.
  • Conduct pre- and post-briefs for driver shifts.
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our friendly team at ourMinworth siteon a full time permanent basis!

Salary:£30,690per annum.

Working hours:Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

As a Transport Planner you will overseethe day to day planning of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer.

Key Duties of a Transport Planner:

  • Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
  • Planning daily workload forfleet: vehicles based on and off site.
  • Dealing with queries and issues by telephone, fax and email from our customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites.
  • Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
  • Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
  • Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise.
  • Support the fleet and driver training team as and when required.
  • Complete pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts.
  • Deliver effective, professional and timely internal and external communications.
Qualifications
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment.
  • Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
  • Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
  • Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the Company and our customer.
  • Be a highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small friendly team, and under own initiative.
  • Knowledge of SAP, BPCS and Road Runner would be advantageous.
